SECTION 4 - FIRE AND EXPLOSION INFORMATION

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Non Flammable

SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES : Be advised if involved in fire or spill with H202 this material may dry out on clothing and may burn with heat source.

SPECIAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Strong oxidizer. Most combustible materials in contact with the decomposed H202 will quickly burst into flame. Rapid decomposition will generate large quantities of oxygen gas and high pressure.

SECTION 5 - HEALTH HAZARD DATA

EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: May cause burns to skin.  Eye injury may be delayed.  Irritating to respiratory tract.  Avoid inhalation of vapor liquid skin contact with skin and eyes.

FIRST AID:  In case of contact, immediately flush with water for 15 minutes.  Remove all contaminated clothing and shoes.

 
SECTION 6 - REACTIVITY DATA

NOT A CARCINOGEN

STABILITY:  Unstable

CONDITIONS TO AVOID:  Stability decreases with strong sunlight.

INCOMPATIBILITY (MATERIALS TO AVOID): Glycerin, Hydazine, Alcohol, Heavy Metallics, Dust, Oxides, Grain, Powder, Cotton, Wool, Wood dust Carbon, Oils, Resins, Combustible Materials.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION:  The adiabatic decomposition temperature of 90% H202 is 1364 F so that most combustible materials in contact with the decomposed H2O2 will quickly burst into flame.  Oxygen Gas.

HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION:  Will not occur.


SECTION 7 - SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES

             STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED:  Dilute with water.  Absorb with inert material and place on D.O.T. container.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD:  Call local waste hauler.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:  Have a self contained breathing unit available.

EYE PROTECTION: Safety glasses; large face shield.

PROTECTIVE GLOVES:  Butyl rubber, neoprene or vinyl gloves.

OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:  Safety shower in area, eyebath.

PRECAUTIONARY LABELING:  Oxidizer and Corrosive.

OTHER HANDLING & STORAGE CONDITIONS:  Store containers and in upright position.  Avoid contact with combustible materials.  Have separation of materials in storage area.
